Housatonic River Fishing Report – Kent, CT – 8/15/26

Flow: 414 CFS

Bass fishing on the Housatonic has continued to go well through the summer. Topwater is still in play, so get after it while it lasts. Streamers, crankbaits, inline spinners, and swim baits have all been producing.

Sorry for the gap between reports. We have been heads down getting our entire store inventory up on the website. Rip Lips Fishing is our online store, so if you need something before your next trip you can shop the full Rip Lips Fishing inventory online, or use the shop link right here on this site.

Beautiful day out there today as we get over the hump of the summer season. Deer season is in sight.

If you are adding to the setup, we have fly rod and reel combos in Connecticut on the rack here in Kent. What we carry is picked for the water we actually fish, not for what looks good in a catalog. Fall tying is not far off either, so the fly tying beads are stocked in tungsten, brass, and glass.

The river is holding a great wet wading level right now. It is about as comfortable as the Housatonic gets for covering water on foot.

Stop into the shop here in Kent for tackle, supplies, and the latest on what the river is doing, or book one of our guided wading trips on the Housatonic if you want someone to put you on fish.

Tight Lines!
