Catch and release fish in a local lake

5/17/25

Open 7 days per week.  We are loaded with inventory for the fishing season.  Booking guide trips, so give a call for best availability!

Green Caddis and March Browns on the water.

River flow at 1670cfs and dropping, river coming back into shape after all the rain, great time for streamers along the edges.

Time to get after it on the Housy!

Been a slow start on the river, right when we came into prime time (early May), heavy consistent rains blew out most rivers in the NE.  All of em' coming back into shape now. In higher water last few days, been getting good reports from anglers that were persistent in their quest. I would expect the bite to really get going on the Housatonic from here forward. If you not fishing now, you not fishing.

Nymphing stones, mayfly, caddis larve, small PT and princes will be effective.  Also work streamers at different paces and angles.  Very green in the NW corner. Turkey season is open.  Kent Falls and Macedonia Brook were stocked a bit ago, lots of anglers having fun at those spots. Lakes and ponds fishing well and getting good reports.

If we follow last two years, we are in for a great season.  The Housatonic River was awesome 2023 & 2024.  Lets hope for good conditions, flows, holdover rate and aggressive Small Mouth Bass!
